Description
Join us for a regular Yoga Nidra practice that helps us engage in self inquiry and explore our true nature. Meditation is probably the most powerful and useful preparation and integration tool for psychedelic and plant-medicine journeying. If you do not have a regular meditation practice, we encourage you to try our bi-monthly Yoga Nidra class. The Lehigh Valley Psychedelic Society hopes to give our community the tools that are helpful to engage in intentional psychedelic and plant-medicine journeying. Often when a challenging experience comes up in our journey, we “identify” with the experience and it can consume us. With meditation, we practice being the observer, the witness of consciousness. When we act as the witness in a plant-medicine experience, we are able to obtain wisdom, without getting lost in our own storylines and character roles. Yoga Nidra, also called psychic sleep, is a journey deep into your subconscious to promote strength, clarity, and healing. Yoga Nidra guides practitioners into the “hypnagogic state”—the threshold between alpha and theta waves—the knife's edge where the body “sleeps” while the mind is lucid. Both meditation and yoga nidra help activate the relaxation response and improve the functioning of your nervous system and endocrine system, which affects your hormones. Both meditation and yoga nidra help cells regenerate and repair, and both help decrease anxiety and improve your mood. Read this article to learn more about Yoga Nidra and what happens during a class. What to bring: Yoga mat, EYE MASK, blankets, pillows, meditation chairs, best to lay down to go deeper.
