A number of factors contribute to success in sports, and nutrition is a key component. In this interactive presentation, participants will learn key concepts that are evidence-based to optimize their nutrition to enhance performance goals, reduce injury risk, and support health outcomes. Shira Evans, MS, RD, CSSD, LD is an expert in performance nutrition and eating disorder care. She is a Board-Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD), supporting athletes in performance-based nutrition as well as treating Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S), disordered eating, and eating disorders. Prior to starting her private practice, Shira Evans Nutrition LLC, she was the Director of Olympic Sports Nutrition at UNC Chapel Hill and at Dartmouth College. She worked with all of the Division 1 athletes and teams. She also has years of experience working in higher levels of care for eating disorder treatment, supporting children and adults to help heal their relationships with food and exercise. Shira is a competitive runner and she enjoys cycling. She has cycled across the United States on two occasions to support affordable housing initiatives. She is currently accepting new clients and would be thrilled to work with you! The final workshop in this series will focus on performance mindset with licensed psychologist Melissa Todd on Monday, Feb. 13 from 7-8pm at Run Hub. Registration coming soon.
