Wills for Heroes is doing several hybrid clinics, where volunteers meet with the first responders virtually (via video conference or phone conference) prepare the documents for the first responders at a time that is convenient for you and then send the documents to the first responder for signature. The first responder site will host an in-person signing and staff it with witnesses and notaries from their areas. To make this successful, we need several attorneys to participate. No estate planning experience is required in advance (but attorneys must attend an OnDemand training prior to volunteering as attorneys at a clinic). You will also need HotDocs and Microsoft word on your personal computer. You may sign up for as many estate plans as you like through the ticket feature on Eventbrite. Once you sign up, you will receive an e-mail with your first responder's Limited Scope Representation Agreement and completed Estate Planning Questionnaire. By participating, you are committing to meeting with your first responder virtually and preparing their documents between the date of your sign-up and the fictional day of the event (February 17, 2023 - the date by which the first responder should have their finalized documents).
