Join us for the West Seattle premiere of iNDIEFLIX’s new documentary RACE to Be Human. We are also proud to feature Gaia Corvino’s award winning student film capturing the POC experience at WSHS! Created for schools and their communities, RACE to Be Human addresses the apprehension and confusion so many of us feel when it comes to talking about race and racism. This must-watch film weaves diverse and compelling student narratives with perspectives and data from educators and experts to examine micro-aggressions, allyship, the role of social media and more. This PTSA hosted family education event will also include a student-led panel and community conversation on how we can personally and collectively promote a community defined by curiosity, empathy and belonging.
Why parents should attend? Raising educated, anti-racist children is an important part of raising kind, conscious, compassionate people and is central to our work as caregivers!
