Whatcom County Skills Center Information Meeting

We are excited to share with you some work happening to establish a Whatcom County Skills Center. WA State Skills Centers are well established educational entities which serve a large geographic region preparing 11th and 12th grades for the local workforce. Students emerge with college credit, industry-recognized credentials and industry-specific training. The Northwest Career & Technical Academy in Skagit County is the closest skills center in our region. While some students currently are traveling to NCTA, there is a void here in Whatcom County for students. You are invited to an in person meeting on February 23 at the Squalicum Boathouse. We would like to provide context, plans and an opportunity for you to give us feedback on programming and considerations. There are two opportunities to engage – 2:00-3:30 (Economic Development Focus) or 4:00-5:30 (Workforce Development Focus).
