ALSO Feb 5, from 5-7:00pmCelebrate Imbolc, the first Fire Festival of the New Year. Imbolc is all about new beginnings, fertility and gestation. It is time when both flora and fauna begin to wake from their winter sleep, bearing new life as the light of day grows longer. To venerate this year's Imbolc, Evan Nance will host a ritual about 5 pm, followed by an activity in which he will be showing us how to make corn dolls, a tradition of Imbolc honoring Brigid the Celtic Goddess of Fire and Fertility. We will hold this ritual under the Snow moon, named after the snow on the ground. Some Native American tribes named this the Hunger Moon; others call it the Storm Moon.
