To maintain your EMS certification for Virginia and National Registry, EMS providers must complete and submit their state requirements for recertification PRIOR TO THEIR CERTIFICATION EXPIRATION. IWVRS wants to assist you with your recertification requirements and offer you continuing education (CE) classes prior to your certification expiration date. Class is held at the Isle of Wight Vol. Rescue Squad. Class time is 09:00 - 13:00. FREE HCA Healthcare EMS Education - CEU Courses * Presentation 1: Just keep breathing and breathing This course will be a review of the anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system as well as acute and chronic pulmonary disease processes and how to treat appropriately. We will analyze our respiratory protocols as well as review the pathology of our frontline medications. We will discuss both ALS and BLS treatment process. This class will be discussion heavy! Instructor: Carly Davis, flight nurse & Meredith Licata, flight paramedic *Presentation 2: The Heart, Electricity and Rhythms, Oh my! This program will cover cardiac anatomy, basic EKG rhythms, obtaining a 12 lead EKG and what to do when you uncover a STEMI on your 12 lead. Instructor: Greg Robertson, flight paramedic *Presentation 3: Landing zone setup and overview of the Air Care Eagle EC-130 aircraft Instructor: all Air Care Eagle staff Each class will have a event ticket.
