Prosody is a community book club that gathers to have meaningful conversations about books and inspire reflection on how stories shape our lives. Prosody will primarily read literary fiction written by or about women, but we will branch out to nonfiction and books from other genres as well. As I have seen my media habits lean towards over-consumption, I am craving, more than ever, opportunities to engage more deeply with art and choose works with more intention. My background is in English literature academia, and I hope to facilitate conversations for Prosody that will hopefully enrich your reading experience. I love to enjoy and savor life’s quiet moments, and I want to bring this practice back into my reading life. At the Prosody Book Club, we will meet monthly to discuss a novel, have conversation, snacks, and drinks (wine and tea). The interest meeting will be a chance for us all to get to know each other! I will be providing a list of the books we will be reading for the first quarter of the year, and I will introduce myself as the moderator for our future discussions. At the event, I will also have a few copies of our first book club pick available for purchase.
