Join us for a fun coffee tasting + building your very own coffee mug! February’s Self-Care Saturday is dedicated to one of our loves: coffee. Coffee expert Tyler Sowrey will walk you through the tasting of five coffees from the same region and same varietal but have all had different methods of processing. This tasting will give you an idea and taste perspective on how coffee is handled and the effect that it has on the cup you start the day with. After a brief pastry break, Scenic City Clay Arts will teach you the clay technique of slab building to make your very own mugs! From there, you’ll decorate them in your own unique way, choose the glaze color and SCCA will fire them. They will be ready for pick up in 3-4 weeks. In 2023, we’re helping you prioritize self-care with Self-Care Saturdays.  With our new Self-Care Saturday series, we’re offering you the chance to relax, unplug and focus specifically on the one thing in your life that you can change: YOU. Each Self-Care Saturday will be a different theme focusing on learning, creating and exploring your passions. About the instructors: Tyler Sowrey is the production roaster for Goodman Coffee. He’s been working in coffee for over 13 years starting out as a barista, tasting and buying green coffee. He’s been a roaster for five years.
