Ahmad Ijaz is the Executive Director and Director of Economic Forecasting for the Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER) at the University of Alabama. Ahmad has over thirty-five years of experience in economic analysis and forecasting, economic impact studies, industry analysis, and national, state and regional economic policy issues. His professional interest include: applied macroeconomics, economic analysis and forecasting, financial instruments and markets, international trade and currency markets. Ahmad holds an undergraduate degree in Finance and a graduate degree in Economics. Ahmad will cover CBER's annual short-term forecast for the Alabama economy as the Alabama Economic Outlook. The 2023 Alabama Economic Outlook focuses on the 2023 United States and Alabama Forecast as well as a Review of the 2022 economy. The forecast covers output and employment by sector as well as current economic conditions and trends and their likely effects on the national and Alabama economies.
