This is the kind of thinking that has destroyed our country. Believing that you are owed an equal outcome equal to someone who has put forth effort to make a better life for themselves and their families has never worked in any society and never will. Our founders were aware to this fact and made it possible for anyone to rise above mediocrity and do well in our country. It was never their intent to give a free ride to those who have no ambition or drive to better themselves. The general welfare clause in our constitution referred to roads, improving navigable waterways, protecting our borders, schools and hospitals. They never intended it to be interpreted as a guaranteed way of life for deadbeats. Our founders intended us to be independent and to be rewarded for our effort, not our heritage or the color of our skin. That is why they did not opt for a monarchy. They intended for us to be the best we can be, not to be rewarded for lack of effort or ambition.
