Join us for Uproot's first wood-fired pizza workshop and dinner at our newly renovated Carriage House! Come learn the tricks of the trade and have all your dough questions answered. The workshop will begin with a conversation about our ingredients - what type of flour, salt, and water we use and an introduction to our sourdough starter. There will be a demonstration of how to hand-mix and shape the dough, with a discussion on proofing and cold fermentation. A lesson on how to perfectly stretch and top a wood-fired pizza will follow, with the opportunity for everyone to try their hand at creating their own pie with a variety of seasonal ingredients. We will then ready the oven, dust our peels, and fire the pizzas in the wood-fired oven! We will end the evening enjoying our pizzas family style, accompanied by a fresh made farm salad and house-made dessert. Each attendee will also go home with a fresh complimentary pizza dough. Guests age 21+ may bring and responsibly drink alcohol at The Carriage House, but our staff cannot open or serve any type of alcohol for guests. Please bring personal wine or bottle openers. We encourage you to purchase wine from local businesses, including Flaura Flowers & Wine, Oyster River Winegrowers, and Warren Wine Shop. Location and Parking: The Uproot Kitchen and Carriage House are located at 9 Green St. in Thomaston. Parking is limited and we suggest guests use the free public parking located behind the Thomaston Grocer and Flipside Cafe across Main Street. The Carriage House is just a short stroll down the block from there. Handicap parking is available at the Carriage House if needed.
