Description

Introductory Clay & Sculpting Handbuilding is a way to work with clay without using the pottery wheel, instead we use techniques with coils, slabs or pinching the clay to make functional and sculptural work. We also use equipment like rolling pins, slab rollers to start the process, usng more clay to embellish and decorate your work. Using handbuilding techniques you can make anything from a small slab plate to a life-size figure sculpture. Our Introductory Clay & Sculpting workshop is appropriate for school aged children. Parents are not required to attend the event. Materials: Clay and tools used to manipulate clay. Each participant will eave with at least 1 completed clay piece of choice. Light refreshments will be provided; contact the boutique to have special accomodations for allergies at least 48 hours prior to scheduled event.
