Description

Newmarket and area towns! Are you ready for a fun night out to benefit a great local cause? Join us on Saturday March 4 at 7 PM for a night of comedy presented by Moccia Comedy Productions to benefit the Newmarket Food Pantry. Our comedians perform all over New England and we’re ready to give you a great night out. Your comedians for the evening are: Mark Moccia. Mark will be your host for the evening. Mark is a full time Technology guy who has a passion for giving back to charity and is a lifelong fan of standup comedy. He started performing comedy in 2019 and has performed all over New England including at Comix Mohegan Sun. He has a self-deprecating style that works for him because there is alot of material to work with! Mark Turcotte. Mark is a married father of two and lifelong New Englander. Most of his material is mined from his family life, an adultlike curiosity, and a series of misfortunes. He’s the founder of Maine Event Comedy and was a finalist in the Funniest Comic on the East Coast contest at Mohegan Sun and a semi-finalist at the World Series of Comedy in Sarasota, Florida. He was also part of the Gotham All-Stars show in New York City and was a recent selection for the Boston, Cleveland, and North Carolina comedy festivals. Mark once facilitated a marriage proposal during a 2015 show in Biddeford, Maine…the couple is still married. Mark believes in using his powers for good. In 2012, he began the Comedy Fix fundraising series, which helped raise money for a variety of local non-profits including The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing, National Alliance on Mental Illness, Good Shepherd Food Bank, Advocates for Children, John F. Murphy Homes, Tree Street Youth, Greater Androscoggin Humane Society, and The Pixel Fund. Colleen McCauley. Mouthy, brash Colleen McCauley is a smart-ass female voice in Boston comedy, and her on-stage persona is not too much different than the role of “Cathy,” the comedian-actress played in the Boston-based classic film Good Will Hunting. She’s appeared at the Regent Theater in Arlington, China Blossom in North Andover, and at Mohegan Sun. She’s shared the stage with a bevy of top New England headliners, including Juston McKinney, Lenny Clarke, Frank Santorelli and Steve Sweeney. Stephan Francescone. Newmarket’s own Stephan Francescone is an aspiring comedian who runs the monthly comedy show at The Stone Church on the first Thursday of the month. Professional by day and an oddity by night, he has more layers than an ogre. Ian MacDonald. Growing up in Auburn, ME, Ian MacDonald now spends his Winters, Springs, Summers, and Falls in Brunswick, ME. Ian placed 3rd in the Finals of New England's Funniest Comedian Competition 2022, was a contestant in The River Comic's Maine's Wicked Funny Laugh Off Contest 2021, finalist in Maine Event Comedy's Tightest Five Competition, performed at the Bricks & Bridges Comedy Fest 2021, the Portland Maine Comedy Festival 2022, and was a regular performer at Empire Comedy Club, including the Make ME Laugh game show and Ignorant. Ian can be seen performing throughout New England and beyond. Ian’s Mom will tell you he's been doing comedy his entire life. Others may tell you his life is absurd. Specifically, Camus. To quote Ian, himself, from his upcoming book: “I like to hit things with sticks.” And, “I didn't know what a River Comic was, but I knew I had to be one.” Ian has worked with many national and international headlining comedians including Mark Normand, Eleanor Conway, Karen Morgan, Brendan Eyre, Anthony DeVito, Ray Harrington, Jay Chanoine, and Casey Crawford among others. Nic Dufault. Nic is from Lewiston, Maine and has opened for comedy legend Gilbert Gottfried. He also opened for “The Queen of Boston Comedy”, Christine Hurley. He was a finalist in House of Bacon’s Wednesday Night Live Comedy Competition and also advanced to the quarterfinal round of the Empire Comedy Summer Classic in Portland. His hilarious stories, impressions, and fun-loving personality has been winning audiences over from Portland to Bangor and beyond. Scott MacNeil. Comedian Scott MacNeil, known as 'Clean & Clever' started comedy at age 47. He has competed in the Boston Comedy Festival twice and was an opener for Gilbert Gottfried. In 2018 he auditioned for America’s Got Talent. Rich DiPippo. Rich has lived in Newmarket for 15 years. He has performed comedy and improv at The Millspace several times. His wife will grudgingly tell you he's funny while rolling her eyes. His kids will tell you he tells dad jokes, but he would like to point out that just because a dad tells a joke does NOT automatically make it a dad joke. He takes great pride in NEVER having done the "Hi hungry, I'm dad" bit.
