Participants will learn the basics of sketching/drawing with Dawn Eyestone during this art series. Students will build on what they do each week, which would be both new work (as warm-up/sketches) and continuing work on a larger single piece. This workshop is geared towards budding artists aged 12 to adult. Depending on availability, participants will have the opportunity to meet an adoptable cat up-close.
Required Materials: Students will need to have a notebook-sized sketchpad (9x12 recommended), graphite pencils of various lead softness (2B, 4B, and 6B recommended), and erasers (a silver rubber and a white plastic recommended). Items may be purchased as an add-on at checkout. Optional materials also included a small metal pencil sharpener, a larger sketch pad, graphite pencils of other weights, a small paint brush or rag for dusting, and a straight edge.
About Dawn Eyestone, PhD: Dawn has been drawing her whole life and graduated university with a Bachelor in Fine Arts. She has worked as a graphic artist prior to teaching college-level English at the University of South Florida. Dawn holds a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Professional Communication from Iowa State University.
