Description

Masquerade Ball at Embassy Theatre, "A Black-Tie Affair to Remember!", opening up for guests to arrive in their tuxedos and formal dresses and gowns at 7 pm on Saturday, April 22. Costume masks are requested. You’ve made your reservations, you’re all dressed up and you arrive at 49 Baltimore Street, Cumberland, MD – where you will walk on the red carpet with your date and enter the Passport Café. There you will offer your coats to our coat check attendant. You may wander over to the café and ask for your complimentary cocktail – chosen from numerous specialties created by our bartenders. You may find a seat at the café or inside the ballroom (which is technically the orchestra area of our theater). Perhaps you’ll see some friends you know. Perhaps you might want to gather up a plate of sustenance at our food tables – appetizers and finger foods created and served by our local caterers. The café is open throughout the evening, and you may come and go as you please to and from the ballroom. The main feature of the night is our live band on the stage. We will have the Tomajito Jazz Funktet featuring Mikayla Dodge. Everyone will be dancing, making merry, socializing with other couples and having the best time they’ve had in a long time! Surely you will want to be there. How many times in your life have you dressed “to the nines” and taken an evening just for the two of you? Wouldn’t it be wonderful to re-create that magic once again? Put on something just gorgeous, see your significant other looking so dashing and strong, and wear a little costume mask to conceal your true identity until 9 pm - when the Great Mask Reveal takes place. Imagine the grandeur of the night. The Grand Presentation of our Honorary Co-Chairs Ken and Kate Buchanan of Oakland, MD…door prizes…red and gold décor…flowers…delicious cocktails and champagne…yet to be announced special features…delectable appetizers and finger foods…dancing…music you’ll love by musicians and a vocalist who live for performance and sharing their gifts with the community…debonair tuxedos and impressive ballroom dresses…favor bags of delightful souvenirs. Truly…"a black-tie affair to remember!"
