Forming Gypsy Jazz Group

Meets

Denver CO

Description

Looking to get a group together to play some Gypsy Jazz standards, meeting up after 5 p.m. on various weekdays to practice/rehearse for weekend gigs. I have a Gitane John Jorgenson signature guitar (for the real authentic sound) and am best at rhythm guitar, although I can trade off for solos, and do walking bass (in a pinch, it's the third picture on this post). I've been a musician for 12 years, studying jazz for 8 years and specializing in Gypsy Jazz for 3 years now. So far my gypsy standard/song list includes: Avalon, Blues en mineur, Djangology, Dark Eyes, Douce Ambiance, Honeysuckle Rose, I'll See You in My Dreams, I've Found a New Baby, Le Rive Gauche, Limehouse Blues, Manoir des mes Reves, Minor Swing, My Blue Heaven, New Metropolitan Swing, Night and Day, Nuages, Out of Nowhere, Plum Crumble, Radio City Rhythm, Swing 42, Troublant Bolero, and Zingarelli. Feel free to text/email/call, and I can send videos of my playing if you'd like proof of my proficiency before we get together to rehearse.
