Critique Day is a monthly opportunity for artists to come together in a safe environment for support and encouragement in their artistic practices. Participants may present 1-3 pieces of work for constructive feedback in a small group setting. Artists and art professionals are invited as guests to share their knowledge and expertise, answer questions and address the challenges artists face. Varied perspectives, technical and emotional components will be discussed and explored. Our goal is to assist artists with finding their creative voice, and providing guidance in a sensitive and helpful manner.
All levels & mediums are welcome.
Guest Artist: Christine Walinski
Christine Walinski Christine grew up in the Pocono Mountains. She attended Keystone College in La Plume, Pennsylvania where she studied Fine Arts. She received her B.F.A. and Art Education Certification from Tyler School of Art in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. She currently resides in Philadelphia with her three favorite beings. Artist Statement: "My work focuses on the relationship and exploration of line, color, shape, mark making and surface while hoping to invoke a sense of reclaimed memory to the viewer. The use of organic abstract shapes and hints of what they might represent, along with the use of images which invoke a sort of stillness and quiet reflection all play an important role in my work. Nature and all its richness is a constant inspiration in my life as is the beauty around and within. My art often carries those themes along with those of memories, solitude, longing, growth, struggle and moments within the space of fleeting time.
