Hi! My name is Cat Boland. I'm a singer-songwriter and looking for musicians who play either the guitar or piano to perform with me around the city. Genres and eras I love most are: 1950s smooth jazz--Chet Baker, Ella Fitzgerald, etc 60s/70s rock and soul--Rolling Stones, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Buddy Holly, Beatles, Velvet Underground, (a lot of miscellaneous soul groups like the delfonics and the chi-lites) etc 60s/70s singer-songwriter--Joni Mitchel, Don McLean, Simon&Garfunkel 80s rock/art pop--David Bowie, ELO, Talking Heads, Hall&Oats 90s sad grunge/alt rock--pearl jam, oasis, third eye blind, 4 non blondes And then, ofc many many many mainstream female singers from the 2000s and beyond (non-exhaustive): Taylor Swift, Lorde, Lana, Phoebe Bridgers, Adele, Nelly Furtado, Griff, Alanis Morisette, Billie Eilish, SZA, etc, etc I pull my music inspiration from a lot of the artists I mentioned and really like most any music with moving lyrics and good vocals! I'd say the genre that I tend to lean into the most is soft rock/pop. Anyways! I write songs and want to perform them, but I'm honestly terrible at the guitar and don't play anything else. I'd really love to perform around the city. Maybe even form a band thats open-minded and inclusive (preferably female-identifying because I'd love to support women in music! but really open to anyone). FYI I'm based in the lower east side and would plan to perform around venues in lower manhattan and Brooklyn. Excited to hear from you!
