Help!

I am searching for an annual rental. My son and his family moved to NPR which is an hour from my current rental. I am 55 with a small 9 lb dog. I have a great rental history of always paying my rent on time and taking great care of any rental I rent. I am seeking an affordable rental, 1-2 bedroom. I am not interested in co-renting. I cannot find a rental in my price range. I live on a fixed income and my budget will only allow $900-$1000 per month. I am struggling to find a place that is in NPR so I can be closer to my grandchildren. Short of winning the lottery, this seems impossible. I have been trying since May 2022 and am on every waiting list in the area. Anyone know of a rental in a safe neighborhood? Thank you, Desperate Grandmother
