Essential Job Information Cabling contractors technician run, pull, stop mule tape for telecommunications companies that provide services such as Internet, and telephone. They can work in numerous different settings such as residential, commercial, or with outdoor communications equipment. Technicians must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing about 30 lbs often. At times, they may have to lift heavier equipment. Additionally, they should be able to work in small spaces and at varying heights and be required to climb ladders. They should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Technicians should be able to work with a team or independently. Job Duties of a Cabling Contractor Cabling contractors set up appointments with customers and maintain communications updates related to customer’s order with the Office. Cabling contractors might have to string lines in buildings. In doing this, they have to make sure wiring remains unbroken and are safely positioned to the customer's specified location. Technicians should manage and maintain exact inventory for parts, tools, and supplies. While experienced in the cabling system and being conversant in wiring for telecommunications companies is a plus; we will provide training to the selected candidate.The Cabling contractor needs to verify cable pathways, conduct site surveys for clients and provide precise information on completed surveys and installs. Cabling contractors assemble and arrange material and equipment, explain and verify service orders, provide scope of work to customers with drawings, specifications, based on particular needs. Work Requirements Cabling contractors must travel to customer and work sites, requiring a good driving record. Additionally, to meet customer demand, jobs might need to be done during the evening or early morning hours. Cabling contractors are required to furnish their own tools and transportation. There will be a bonus offer for traveling outside South Florida Educational Qualifications and Other Requirements High school diploma or a G.E.D preferable. Applicants would need to be physically fit and also must possess excellent communication skills, as they would interact with vendors and clients. One or two years’ experience of working with cabling/wiring installation services, would be beneficial. They should have experience bending and running conduit, & pulling mule tape.
