Description
It's our 2nd Annual Jose's Lookin' Good Showcase and this year we will be bringing Paleface to town with Carolinabound opening. We will be offering a limited number of music only tickets and an even smaller number of BBQ and music tickets. The event will be held at Continuum Art on 1st Avenue this year. BBQ tickets will include a full buffet including pulled pork, pulled chicken, smoked wings, smoked beans, mac and cheese, cole slaw and smoked zuchinni. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be served. Paleface: Prolific, influential American songwriter & recording artist, Paleface, is releasing his new self-produced, full-length album Beyond the Bells on February 17, 2023. The album is mixed by Grammy-nominated engineer Jason Richmond (The Avett Brothers, John Legend) and mastered by John Greenham (who’s received multiple Grammys, most recently for his work with Billie Eilish). It also features drumming & additional vocals by his partner Monica “Mo” Samalot, originally from Puerto Rico. "Paleface is a gem, a brilliant man...one of the greatest songwriters on Earth" The Avett Brothers "We used to go to all the open mics together. Paleface taught me Daniel Johnston songs on the sidewalk and let me sleep on his couch. He's a great songwriter, a generous friend, and a big influence on my early stuff" Beck Carolinabound: "Sometimes an artist’s name is right on the money. Having been a frequent traveler through the Carolinas, there is an immediate image conjured up when this moody, haunting version of country folk starts filling up the room. You can see and feel the influence of the Blue Ridge Mountains on Chris Smith, lead singer-songwriter and core creative force of Carolinabound. The simplicity of the songwriting is refreshing, and they're incredibly easy to listen to, especially on a lazy weekend afternoon. Smith’s vocals are vulnerable, sweet and melancholic in their delivery of lyrics steeped in country and folk traditional topics of love, loss and life experiences. There is nothing groundbreaking in that, just the comfort of knowing this troubadouresque type of performer continues to work in the background while trends fade in and out." -Heidi Drockelman(indie-music.com)
