Dragonfly, an established, gigging, 5-piece party-rock and dance cover-band, is seeking a bass player, ideally with vocal abilities (lead/backing vocals/harmonies). Our beloved long-time bass player/vocalist has decided to retire from performing. The band already has a female and a male lead vocalist who typically sing 90% of the lead vocals (and harmonies). We are looking for a talented bass player with extensive performing experience and the willingness and ability to play multiple styles and genres of music (rock, pop, blues, funk, dance, R&B, etc. – classic and contemporary). Must be polished, have good stage presence, be all or mostly “off-book” by the time we start gigging, and enjoy engaging with the audience and interacting with other band members on stage. The ability to sing harmonies and/or leads is a plus. You must be willing to learn a broad base of our existing material, but we are open to learning some tunes that are already in your wheelhouse. This is a walk-in opportunity with an established, working band with a large following…for the right person (we played over 70 shows in 2022 and already have 30 shows booked for 2023). We are a laid-back, easy-going bunch that likes to have fun while we rehearse and perform, but we also all share a strong professional work ethic. We expect all band members to be reliable, arrive on-time and prepared for rehearsals and gigs, and be able and willing to help set-up (pre-show) and break-down (at the end of the night).
