SPICE TO ENTICE

Description

Congas, bongos, djembes are rarely essential in a music mix. But they are the spice that can add a unique textural emphasis which is why I hope to join with a conglomeration of musicians that know how a little spice can entice!! I’m a hand percussion pro with muti-genre experience that wants to sidestep the doldrums of covers and connect with a duo, trio, quartet, quintet, or more, who are up for originals with a jazz-funk approach, a world view of rhythm, a touch of fusion, maybe a tbsp. of reggae, a tsp. of samba, or a double pinch of Afro without fear of genre mashups, who’ve got big ears and know how to use them. I'm up for a no-strings-attached jam audition and if the connection is there, becoming an asset in your established group or becoming part of the start of one. These are some of the YouTube available grooves that turn me on: O LA by BOKANTE DIRECT FLYTE by CORY WONG MOUSSA byTHE HADOUK TRIO ROBERTO FONSECA AND FATOUMATA DIAWARA - Live Pori Jazz 2014 HUNT UP WIND by HIROSHI FUKUMARA & SADAO WATANABE PHAT BACC by MONO NEON RIDING NORTH byNADISHANA RIVER PEOPLE byWEATHER REPORT TANTALUS byTHE NEW MASTERSOUNDS and almost anything by UMPHREY’S MCGEE ...and here is a page full of my samples in a variety of genres showing what a bit of hand-percussive spice can add. https://www.reverbnation.com/davidnamerow Plus, I can change my stage geography to accommodate smaller venues. Room for 1, 2, or 3 congas? Or just a set of bongos? https://youtu.be/2yKDOJDIPFs Travel is an issue so would like to keep this within the Western suburbs. I do not have a practice space at my location. Please have some samples.
