Description
Hi Folks,
RiRa Burlington reached out to me for pulling together some live Irish music.
Pub songs and ballads, not specifically trad (although some trad mixed in would be awesome).
Starting probably end of February, through the summer and beyond.
I'm a singer/bodhran player, with lots of experience fronting and backing Irish bands. I can be a total pain in the ass, as well as really fun.
I have a roster of players I'm already in the process of communicating with. Aligning schedules/availability is the challenge. I'm mostly the challenge (am a business owner, have young kids)
So, what I'm specifically looking for:
- One solid person. Gender, hair color, # of appendages, etc. irrelevant. Can you folkin' rock?
- Guitar or Irish bouzouki, with vocals (lead or backing).
- consistent availability 1-4 Tuesdays per month.
- close-ish to Bristol, Vermont so we can actually rehearse a couple times per month.
- cool with guest players crashing the gig randomly.
- possibly developing a longer-term partnership, but not necessary.
Ideally, you'd already have your head wrapped around the Irish pub thing, and some Irish music.
Having jam band, folk, or bluegrass background is totally cool too. With a little work, that can fit wonderfully with Irish pub songs and ballads. Love to throw Dead, Country folk, reggae, world music, etc. in the mix too.
In addition to guitar; Irish trad instruments (fiddle, flute, tenor banjo, mandolin, mandola, etc.); or 5-string banjo, mandolin, etc. are great.
Got folky original material too? Great, bring it.
I'm already booked down in Killington Friday-Sunday St. Patrick's Weekend (Killington Irish Festival at Summit Lodge) with my duo, The County Down - but am looking for additional players/bands to fill spots there too.
You can check out me and my stuff at RambleTree.net, or look up RambleTree YouTube channel.
Burlington. Tuesdays. Irish duo. Guitar and Vocals. Paid gigs. Pints. The Craic.
