Maddy is a 13-year-old short hair tabby cat. She was found abandoned in the greater DC area. She was adopted by us as a kitten. She is a wonderful pet. She loves to be with us but doesn't love to be picked up and is most happy sleeping at the foot of the bed or the other end of the couch. (She has never been a lap cat.)
She had bladder stones as a young cat and struggles with her weight so she requires special cat food (Purina OM cat food https://www.chewy.com/purina-pro-plan-veterinary-diets-om/dp/49846). Since being on special food she has had no issues with bladder stones. She is also picky about food and doesn't like wet food, cat treats, or human food.
We moved and had a second child and this has put Maddy over the edge. She now rarely poops in the litter box despite multiple interventions (she pees in the litter box just fine). She is very nervous and stressed out by our young children.
Maddy is looking for a new home without young children and ideally without other pets. She has always been by herself so it would be best for her to be the only cat and pet.
