Description

Sweet Blue Heeler seeks new family. I’ve had him for a year now and I love him, but I’m allergic and tired of the battle with the dander and sneezing. Pros: ~ Loves children, other dogs, hasn’t been tested around cats besides a brief introduction that was controlled, but is generally a sweet and loving dog. I’ve seen him get down on his belly when approached by puppies, but he is still a bit of a pup himself and may need an older dog to teach him a boundary or two. ~ Eager to learn and extremely treat and reward oriented. ~ Knows basic commands and does pretty well. ~ He’s completely house trained. ~ Loves car rides (if he ever runs off an offer to ride on the car will bring him home like a boomerang) and hikes. ~ Walks okay on a leash, but I wouldn’t let a kid walk him because sometimes he will try to take off after a squirrel or other dog and he’s quite strong. ~ His dad was a working cattle dog and he’s been around goats before. ~ I’ve taken him to stores, restaurants, etc and he’s not perfect and gets excited, but he’s a pretty good boy. ~ Not afraid of anything - lightning, bigger dogs, bears…. *** Good dog overall if you can handle his attempts at jumping (I don’t allow it, but it seems engrained still) and he is really hoping to find a home where he’s allowed on couches and laps. *** Cons: ~ Tries to jump ~ Can be rambunctious when meeting new people - especially if they like to play with him. ~ Crate trained but very sensitive about it and I do not recommend using one for him. He is not a destructive dog, but he does like to eat stuffed animals and has tried to walk off with my sock a few times. Just keep the house picked up and he’s an ideal dog when left alone. ~ Tests boundaries - if you know blue heelers, you know this is part of their breed. Adoption fee applies for his own safety. Note: I will accept him back if he doesn’t work out. *** If interested please email me with your phone number so I can call you to discuss and so I know you’re not a scammer or spammer. ***
