Description
Hey there,
Guitarist/vocalist and drummer looking for guitar and bass—huge plus if you have production chops.
Ideally looking for those that dig indie rock, alt-country, modern folk/Americana, shoegaze/dream pop, and/or ambient tunes. We’re not jazz musicians, but we have an appreciation for it. We’re in our thirties and looking to record a rough demo at home. If it’s good, then we’ll try to get on with some prominent local artists and eventually record somewhere nice.
I have a few good songs. They’re simple structures, and they’re sad, slow, tasteful, and catchy. I’m singing baritone these days, and we’re open to letting the project evolve in new ways. That is, totally open to feedback and rearrangements to make the songs sound better.
For guitar: I’d love someone who has an affinity for pedals and loves unique textures. A professional setup is nice, along with some experience playing out and recording. However, open to seriously talented people who might not have had those opportunities.
For bass: knows how to stay in the pocket, but can add tasteful fills. Good sense for changing up a second verse with interesting approaches.
For the boring stuff: Not concerned with alcohol or ganja. What we are looking for are talented, professional musicians who don’t come with unreasonable emotional issues, flakiness, immaturity, strange political tendencies, or plates that are more than half full. Likely better if you’re in our age range and dig some of these (or similar) artists. To name a handful:
Bright Eyes/Connor Oberst
Neva Dinova
The Cactus Blossoms
Mojave 3/Slowdive/Neil Halstead
Sufjan Stevens
Sigur Ros
The National
Bill Callahan
Iron & Wine
Mark Kozelek/Sun Kil Moon
Soccer Mommy
Sharon Van Etten
Wilco/Son Volt
Phoebe Bridgers
Pedro the Lion
Bon Iver
Andy Shauf
Death Cab
My Bloody Valentine
Email me some info about yourself and we can go from there.
