Wave Hill Breads is a recognized, premium award winning artisan bread bakery serving whole sale clients and farmers markets throughout Connecticut and New York State. Wave Hill Breads won Best Bread in Connecticut in 2022, 2018, 2014 and 2013. We were also recognized as one of the top 100 bakeries in America by Food & Wine Magazine in May 2020. The Baker's position contributes in an important way to the success of the bakery and the individual will be trained over time in all aspects of authentic artisan baking. We are currently looking to fulfill both full-time and part-time baker positions; day and night shifts are both available. The Position requires an initial commitment of 25-40 hour/week. Overtime is granted during the busy season. Job Description The baker's position will have the knowledge to, but not be limited to the following: *Scale ingredients/Bench prep *Mix pre-fermentations *Divide & Shape various doughs *Use the deck and rotating ovens *Maintenance & cleaning of equipment *The baker will be working with dough such as challah and brioche doughs, sourdoughs, multigrain, French breads, pan loaves, cookies, muffins, etc. Requirements: -Must be able to lift 50lbs. -In an 8-9 hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hrs. -Strong work ethic/follow directions/team player -Reliable and punctual -Previous baking experience is a MUST. -Applicants with experienced OVEN skills are highly recommended to apply. -Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. -Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures. -Proficient mathematical skills Legal Requirement: • VALID proof of eligibility to work in the United States Compensation: - Highly Competitive Rates (*Wage is decided after performance on trial run, credentials and references) - With long-term commitments, employee may participate in the following: *401K retirement savings plan with employer matching contributions *Health Benefits *Paid Vacation Time *Sick Days Position is available IMMEDIATELY.
