The laughter is coming to Owego when Homebrewed Comedy hits the stage at the John Barleycorn on Wednesday, Feb. 1. Rasheed Wesley is headlining the show and Holly Griffin and Chris Chimmer are joining host Mike Peters. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., and there's a recommended $5 donation at the door, which opens at 7. Come out and enjoy the show. About the comedians: Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters is the founder of Homebrewed Comedy. He hosts at the Syracuse Funny Bone and Wise Crackers in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcasts, On the Mic with Mike Peters and It’s About Time: A Sopranos Watch Podcast. Chris Chimmer has been able to combine his writing experience as a journalist and a dark sense of humor to make a name for himself in the Williamsport-Lewisburg comedy scene. The founder and editor of Foster Focus magazine, Chimmer enjoys pushing the boundaries when it comes to his comedy. Smoking, too. He really likes smoking. Holly Griffin is a Binghamton comedian, who tells stories about everyday life, unexpected hijinks, Tinder adventures and uncomfortable social situations. They’ll leave you with the feeling that you’re glad you’re not her. Whether you’re laughing with her or at her, you’ll be happy you were a witness to the calamity. She’s a co-host of the Logic and Laughs podcast. Williamsport comedian Rasheed Wesley Jr., a Chester, Pa., native, has been performing consistently in the North Central region of Pennsylvania since 2016 and worked at the Broadway Comedy Club in New York City. Known for his stage presence, storytelling and unique life perspectives on race, family and his own sexuality, Wesley, Jr. has performed with the likes of Mark Viola, Jennifer McAuliffe, Krish Mohan and Chris Thayer.
