Tickets are $35 & will include a beer + everything you'll need to create a mini biosphere aquarium for your live marimo moss balls in these cute ceramic gum ball machines. Children & friends welcome of all ages! Event will be held at Hi-Wire Brewing 2020 Barber St. Knoxville, TN from 5:00-8:00PM This event won't be a time-consumer, but we encourage you to hangout & enjoy your beer on us! Marimo is a rare growth form of Aegagropila linnaei in which the algae grow into large green balls with a velvety appearance. The species can be found in a number of lakes and rivers in Japan and Northern Europe. Colonies of Marimo balls are known to form in Japan and Iceland, but their population has been declining. Marimo moss balls can live in minimal lighting (natural or artificial) & do not require feeding. It's suggested you change their water every two weeks - regular tap water will work just fine.
