About the American Advertising Awards The American Advertising Awards is the advertising industry's largest and most representative competition, attracting nearly 35,000 entries nationwide every year in local AAF competitions. The mission of the American Advertising Awards is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising. This is the first step in a three-tiered competition where winners move up the ranks to compete on the national level. AAF Black Hills hosts the competition to serve the Rapid City, the Black Hills, and western South Dakota community of marketing/advertising and creative professionals. Winners have submitted creative work which was judged by a panel of industry professionals from outside of the Black Hills market.
