Edwin is four years old. He is housebroken. Edwin has white fur and sheds a great deal. He comes when his name is called or if you blow a whistle. He watches television shows and is an excellent companion. THIS IS A SHORT-HAIRED INSIDE DOG, NOT A YARD DOG. If you cannot keep a dog indoors please do not contact us. This dog is only good with another dog if hours are spent getting him used to a dog. He is tolerant of children but may defend himself against physical abuse. He will chase wild animals but has no prey instinct and will not kill. Fenced yard only! He will stay home on a large rural property if his owner is home but will leave and wander miles away if left home alone. If you do not currently have a fenced yard, please explain how you will keep him safe from cars. NOTE: I will NOT give the dog to anyone who does not promise in writing that this dog will live indoors. Before you meet Edwin, I must have a satisfactory telephone call with a veterinarian who has cared for your animals in the past. I retain the right to refuse to give this dog to anyone I do not feel comfortable with, and I will not provide a reason. After you meet the dog and I accept you for adoption, a $300 gift to Jack Russell Terrier Rescue OR Nelson County, Virginia SPCA (your choice) will be required as a rehoming fee. Proof of your gift from the organization will be required before I surrender the dog. Please reply with your name, the name and number of your veterinarian, and the name(s) of your animals who were cared for there.
