LIVE MUSIC, in partnership with NIGHT BEFORE MEDIAPORCH SWINGPorch Swing began playing jazz on the front porch in summer 2020, to the delight of our neighbors and the mailman. Kali Geiger sings jazz favorites, with Myles Sullivan on guitar, Mary Fukuyama on flute and accordion, and Jackie Davis on bass. Porch Swing played for the first annual Valentine's event at Sweetwater last year, and for the last two Holiday Homes Tours, so you may recognize some friendly spaces! PRIZILLA Isabella Duncan, otherwise known as PRIZILLA, is an English-born, Tampa-raised multi-genre musician. PRIZILLA's music pays homage to Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Beabadoobee, among many others from the R&B, alternative, soul, and neo-soul genres. While she has years of jazz training under her belt, having attended a nationally recognized conservatory, Isabella doesn't confine herself to one style. Isabella grew up playing alto saxophone in 2016 and instantly fell in love with music. She began her journey as PRIZILLA in 2022 when she moved to Gainesville, FL to attend college at the University of Florida. She has since performed as a part of the Kay Bridges “Live, Love, Ladies” tour, played various charity gigs for local charities including Hearing for Hearos and The Free Grocery Store, and in 2023 she has been invited to play Gainesville’s annual music festival “Heartwood Fest”. The young artist has one song out entitled “Record Player” on all streaming platforms and has confirmed plans to release an EP in early 2023. THE ORGANELLESAfter three longtime friends decided to strike out on their own and pursue a new sound for the local scene. The band gets their name from Zack’s vintage Hammond B-3 that comes along to every show, and it’s sizzling tone is backbone of the Organelle’s sound. Add in Max’s soulful guitar voicings and a relentless groove from Justin on the drums, and you have an undeniably fun and danceable sound. From jazz and soul standards to high power Hendrix covers, the genre doesn’t matter nearly as much as energy. However, the Organelle’s are about more than just putting on a good show. One of the group’s main goals is to bring together great musicians and artists from around town. Any time they take the stage, you can expect to see familiar faces from Gainesville’s music scene sitting in for a solo or grabbing the mic to sing their favorite song. This light-hearted atmosphere paired with the band’s adventurous arrangements means every show is one-of-a-kind. LEIA AZARLEIA AZAR is a local singer-songwriter who absolutely blew us away with her voice and style. One favorite is Who I Am.
