Description

Mending is the act of repairing clothes with imperfections including holes, tears, and missing buttons. Invisible mending is a repair technique that is used when you don’t want the mended area to stand out. Mending Mine is a community workshop presented by the Simple & Just Resale Boutique to teach basic textile repair including knits and denim. All levels of stitchers are welcome AND should bring a personal garment in need of repair to work on during the workshop. Needles and basic thread colors will be provided, however feel free to bring a different color thread to match a specific garment of yours. Tickets are $10 donation. Instructor Terri Blair is a seamstress with 40+ years of experience. She is a valued volunteer with Simple & Just where she currently repairs various clothing items as well as helps in sorting donations. Simple & Just Resale Shop Since 2016, Simple & Just is a non-profit clothing resale shop serving the Seattle community. 100% of our profits fund critical needs including safe shelters, mental health services, and development of life skills to survivors of commercial sexual exploitation.
