The last Louisville Miners Ball was held in 1929 at the height of Prohibition and the Roaring Twenties. Legend has it that the bootleg whiskey flowed like water and proper ladies and gentlemen, pickpockets, prostitutes, and notorious gangsters all danced, gambled and partied together in a secret underground location, right under the noses of Federal Bureau of Prohibition Officers. 1930 brought the Great Depression and the Miner's Ball faded into history... Until Now!!
Come celebrate, Roaring Twenties Style, with The Louisville Underground on Saturday, February 4. Come dressed to impress in your flapper dresses, black tie, or Al Capone gangster style outfits. Stomp Street Heist will be playing vintage dance music with a modern edge, bank robber songs and some drinking songs. We'll also have high stakes gambling at the craps table and photo ops galore, along with vintage cocktails and other surprises.
