Description

If facts and figures were going to save us from the climate crisis, we would have solved it long ago. While we have the science and the technology, what we don’t have is the political will or the popular imagination. We need climate stories now! Join a panel exploring how film and storytelling tools can help us find courage in the face of climate crisis and center communities of color . This powerful discussion will feature Glorimar Marrero Sanchez, filmmaker of the Sundance premiering film “La Pecera (The Fishbowl)” as well as Rev. Lennox Yearwood Jr., President & CEO of Hip Hop Caucus and one of the most influential people calling for divestment from fossil fuels. The panel will be moderated by Favianna Rodriguez, President of the Center for Cultural Power and a prolific artist in the climate justice movement. This panel will also feature the Good Energy Climate Storytelling Playbook, the first ever climate storytelling guide for screenwriters - a foundational resource developed in conversation with over a hundred TV and film writers, whose shows and movies reach millions. This event is brought to you by The Latinx House, The Center for Cultural Power, The Women's Foundation Culture Change Fund, Hip Hop Caucus and Good Energy.
