There’s a treasure hunt going on that combines technology with nature! Come learn how to geocache with an experienced geocacher and get in on the fun!
This is a classroom-style program that also includes going out and locating caches hidden within the Natural Area. Learn how easy it is to get started using your own smart phone or GPS unit. GPS units will be available for those who don’t yet have one.
Who is Invited: Open to ages 8 and above; participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian; no pets please.
Registration, Fees, Day Pass & Cancellation: Registration is required for this hike. Group size is limited. Sorry, no group registrations.
Registration opens on Saturday, two weeks prior to the event, and closes at noon, the Thursday before the event. Though the hike is free, entrance fees to the Natural Area apply.
To save time at the Fee Booth and ensure entrance on crowded days, please pre-purchase and PRINT OUT a Day Pass. SPECIAL NOTE: Reserving a Day Pass is NOT the same as making a program reservation.

When & Where to Meet: Meet at the Visitors Center Exhibit Gallery.
The Natural Area can be very busy! The Natural Area front gates open at 7:00AM; plan to be at the Visitor Center and ready to go no later than 1:00PM.
What to Wear & Bring: BYO smart phone or GPS unit or when you register, let us know if you need to borrow a GPS unit. Dress for being outdoors; sunscreen and hat recommended. Wear sturdy footwear appropriate for rough trails; bring one (1) liter of water PER PERSON and a snack if you like.
