No experience needed - we will spend the first part of the class going over basic Bhangra fundamentals. We will then teach a fun choreography everyone can learn and even take home to show off! Featuring visiting instructors Pooja Mayur and Nirmal Maxwell - both lifelong dancers who have nationally competed on Bhangra teams such as Hurricane Bhangra and the Ministry of Bhangra. They are excited to share their passion with Des Moines! Bhangra is a traditional folk-dance style that originated in Punjab, India. As it has become more modernized, its influence became more mainstream and spread throughout the world.
