Official Rules and ProceduresHow to Apply - Access the application using the QR Code - Finalize your application when you pay your entry fee of $20 - Deadline to Apply: 5:00 PM on February 28, 2023 - Following review of applications, you will receive an email with information for the event. Compete in One of Two Age Categories Category 1: High School - must be currently enrolled Category 2: Collegiate - must be currently enrolled Compete as a Vocal Soloist, or a Pop Ensemble of 2-4 Musicians, including Vocalist Soloists may self-accompany, or use a backing track Ensembles must consist of two (2), and no more than four (4) members The Event Thursday, April 20, 2023 High School Friday, April 21, 2023 Collegiate Schedule TBD Location: Troy University Address: 600 University Ave, Troy, AL 36082 Prelims: Participants receive feedback from music industry educators. Finals: Top 5 scores in each category receive an opportunity to perform on-stage, in a theatrical venue, for a panel of industry professionals. Judging Measures: - Song Choice - Technical Proficiency - Musical Expression - Stage Presence - Creativity - Audience Appeal Provided and required for use by all performers: DW drum kit, amplifiers, keyboards, microphones, audio and lighting. Instrumentalists will provide their own pedals and guitars. You may bring your own keyboard if preferred. An industry standard instrument is provided.
