Testing the water: New project covering Garage/Rock/New wave/Mashups

Experienced Pioneer Valley guitarist here (with vocals and beginning keys) looking to put together a unique cover band if there's any interest. It would be a mix of familiar and lesser-heard songs, but mainly fun and upbeat, with genres including rock (70s-'10s), new wave (60s-90s), garage (60s-'10s), and various others (funk, disco, riot grrrl, R&B,...) It would be fun to also do creative twists on well-known songs, and tasty mashups. Think rock/garage versions of Pomplamoose, The A.V. Club, Scary pockets, etc. A sense of humor is important :-) (Actually, this could be the sole theme of a band.) I have a long list of songs I've run across (but I'm totally open to input) with artists like: The Woggles, Talking Heads, 5 6 7 8 s, The Dollyrots, The B-52's, Elastica, The Dirtbombs, The Jackets, The Julie Ruin, Bikini Kill, The Sonics, Devo, The Gossip,... Plus more recognizable names. I'm not sure if there's an audience for this, but I'm willing to start putting some songs together if I can find like-minded folks. Give me a shout if any of this gets your heart pumping. It would be great to connect with a singer/instrumentalist with a higher range (any gender welcome), but I'd love to hear from anyone who thinks this could fly. Thanks for reading!
