Overview: Due to continued strong growth, our national technical services company has an immediate need for a Field Service Technician based in the Metropolitan New York City area. This is a unique and interesting position. Our Technicians employ cutting-edge instruments and technologies to identify problems in commercial flat roofing systems. Our Technicians work from their home bases with administration coordinated by the corporate office located in Williston, VT. The primary service territory for this position is New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Eastern Pennsylvania. However, there can also be significant air travel to other areas of the country as the schedule requires. This is a permanent full-time position, in which we will train you for a career in the rapidly expanding and rewarding field of non-destructive roof testing. You will join a team of experts who have provided the industry with professional services since 1984. We are an industry leader, and architects, engineers, contractors, manufacturers, and owners rely on IR Analyzers for fast response times, thorough and accurate testing, and the highest quality reports in the industry. Duties and Responsibilities: The successful applicant needs to have good independent work skills and be very organized. The job involves traveling to the customer’s facility and working with personnel from the customer’s facility. The Technician must have a personable, professional attitude, have excellent communication skills, and be able to interact positively with a wide variety of people. We provide our customers with high quality, detailed reports illustrating where problems are occurring at their facilities. These reports provide essential information that our customers need for many purposes. Our Technicians must have a highly developed ability to focus on and report on the details of the testing so we can provide complete and accurate information to our customers. The Technician will be responsible for conducting the testing and submitting a draft of the test results to the office for final report production. Additional Skills and Requirements: • Flexible and available to work both days (including early mornings) and nights during the week with occasional weekend availability. • Willing to travel by car and airplane with overnight stays. • Have a reliable vehicle for full-time use. • Proficient with computers and have good math skills. • Able to handle and climb ladders and walk around on large flat roofs. • Able to work in positions which require stooping and kneeling. Compensation and Benefits: Compensation approximately $70,000 annually. Three weeks paid time off. Health insurance and Simple IRA Retirement plan with company contributions.
