Description
I have noticed a very troubling trend lately. Entirely too many people using smart phones in an unsafe manner, so in order to combat this I would like to propose the Smart phone Control Act of 22023.
To begin with each citizen would have to fill out a government form listing all personal information, to include, but not limited to, ssn, address, phone number, date of birth, serial number of the smartphone, before purchase.
Retailers of smartphone would be required to obtain a licence from the federal government in order to sell smartphone. This licence would allow the federal government unfettered access to every aspect of their business, allow for unannounced inspections, and even the most trivial infractions would result in suspension of said licence.
The Federal Communications Commission would be granted broad powers to regulate smart phones, including type, size, place of manufature, battery capacity, volume, and pretty much anything else they decide is appropriate.
Citizens would be restricted as to when, where, and how they carried their smartphones, and would be subject to severe criminal penalties should they violate any restriction.
Only people over the age of 21 would be allowed to purchase a smartphone.
If the government decides that your behavior, unrelated to smartphone usage, poses a potential threat to yourself or others, the government has the right to confiscate your smartphone.
Sounds very Orwellian, doesn't it? Most reasonable people, living in a free society would be appalled at even the suggestion. And yet this is only a small sample of US gun laws. If we, as members of a free society continue to allow infringements to one right, it won't be long before we lose all rights.
