Description
Send a link that I can listen to. If it's good or great I may be interested. If it's not good or great then I'm not interested. Ultimately, I'd like to be playing music for a living.
Great comps, riff writer.
I can pump some life into stuff, construct a groove with a vibe if there's some meat to work with, rewrite if necessary, fix or reconstruct bridges and turnarounds that aren't working just right. Tasteful embellishments that don't mess up the flow.
I'm a pretty good arranger, with good ears for keeping the essential elements of musical exposition moving forward in the same direction. I can balance the big picture with the small details.
Originals only. Good ones. I'd rather be creating music and I don't mind the headache of the creative process. I don't understand the tribute or cover mentality. I went to arts school. The instructors didn't tell the students to copy or recreate other people's works. We had to create, not copy or recreate what's been done.
Pro level players and writers, please. No sloppy indie/alternative.
If your singer is not totally great I'm totally not interested. Putting a lot of work behind a vocalist who can't deliver is just a pointless waste of time. And honestly, I'm tired of situations where, out of all of the members of a band, the singer has the worst ears and instincts about what ideas work and what doesn't.
I'm not looking for a sinking ship or a band that has revolving doors of membership and is fighting off an inevitable collapse because of poor musicianship or songwriting or attitude problems.
