Saturday & Sunday, Feb. 11 & 12, 1 – 3:30pm at the Lightcatcher building $45 Museum Members/$55 Non-Members Explore katazome, a paste-resist technique, using Indigo dye and Sumi ink in this two-day workshop with renowned katazome artist Akemi N. Cohn from Chicago, Illinois. She will lead participants in making katazome works, from creating a stencil to applying it as a resist design on cotton fabric. Enjoy the unique harmony of layering various shades of indigo. This workshop is a fabulous introduction and companion to the exhibition Katazome Today: Migrations of a Japanese Art, on display at the Whatcom Museum's Lightcatcher building Feb. 11 - June 11, 2023. Cohn's artwork is featured in the exhibition. NOTE: This is a two-part workshop and registration includes both sessions on February 11 and 12. The workshop is designed for adults.
