This class is being offered as a part of the winter meeting of the Louisiana Ornithological Society. This class is designed to be a quick overview of the basics needed to get into birdwatching. We'll talk about binoculars and field guides and how to choose and use them, identification tips, where to go birdwatching in Louisiana and offer some birding resources.
This class will consist of hour or so of lecture, a guided bird walk at Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center, and then a wrapup lecture.
- Class is free and open to the public. Registration is required so we know who to expect.
- Class will be limited to 20 people. If there is enough interest, a second class may be offered in the afternoon.
- Class will be held at the Education Center at Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center (not the main building). Address is 10533 N. Glenstone Place, BR LA 70810
- Field guides and Binoculars will be offered for use during the class.
