TEAM HAROUNA’S service and generosity have untied these communities and enriched the lives of all involved. Harouna Zoungrana is a husband, father, and an educator in Burkina Faso. His country is currently experiencing economic crisis as well as governmental instability. Harouna has founded the Collège Privé Jeunesse Elohim; he is chief instructor and is the financial backer of the school. Here, young people are taught math, reading, history, computers, French and life skills – all extraordinarily valuable and rare courses in this part of the world. Harouna has worked with partners in Ohio and Northern Colorado to bring education, hope and life to those in his community. A GIFT OF HOPE- In 2021, a pickup truck donated by the Nackos family in Windsor, Colorado- in memory of their son, Kyle – was successfully transferred by TEAM HAROUNA along with school supplies, clothing, and computers from the United States to his village. These vital goods have been distributed to children in the community and used at the school. The subsequent excitement has brought hundreds of new students to enroll in this life-changing program. WATCH THE STORY ON 9 NEWS. A GIFT OF LIFE- Early in 2022, students at the Windsor Charter Academy combined their efforts with other local resources to raise money to build a water well near the school. Before this, students and families had to walk 5km (3.1 miles) simply to secure drinkable water for daily needs. This has been an indescribable blessing to students, families, and all villagers- greatly improving quality of life. A GIFT OF HOME- This year, TEAM HAROUNA will raise $30,000 to bless the lives of those involved in the school by building the schoolmaster a home on the school grounds. Currently Harouna and his family live many miles from the school. Harouna’s commitment to instruction and managing the needs of the school have kept Harouna away from his family for long periods of time. He is only able to see his beloved wife and children on weekends. Like many families from the area, The Zoungrana’s resources are sparse. It’s critical to build the home so they can be protected and together given the current political, economic, and military instability.CONTACT Lara Holt- [email protected] Kathy Ladd- [email protected]
