9:00 - 10:30 - We will start the day with a meeting hosted by the Troup County Homeless Collation, located at Branches of Hope, 124 Gordon Commercial Drive, LaGrange, Georgia. Branches of hope will provide an update on housing initiatives in the community generally with a focus on their new facility and program. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and to talk about unmet needs in the community. Georgia Appleseed will provide feedback and may share ideas about how we can continue to address the issue of homelessness in our community. The program will last about an hour followed by an opportunity to tour the new facility. 11:00 -11:45 - We will visit Troup County School System's first school-based health clinic at Callaway Elementary School, located at Callaway Elementary School, 2200 Hammett Road. Lagrange, Georgia. Numbers will be limited for this part of the program, so sign up early if you want to go. 1:30 to 3:00 - As part of its work Georgia Appleseed leads the Georgia Education Climate Coalition, which will be holding its quarterly meeting at Community Action for Improvement, located at 1380 Lafayette Parkway, Lagrange, Georgia. The Troup County Juvenile Court will deliver a presentation about what they are doing to implement trauma informed (or trauma responsive) care and to create a culture of healing within the Court. The Troup County School System will deliver a presentation about what they are doing in the school to create a positive, productive school climate. Georgia Appleseed will then conduct their normal business. The 1:30 meeting will be hybrid so you will have the option of attending in-person ore virtually.
