This year’s theme is “The Role of Faith Communities in Social Justice.” Each year, during the month of January, the University of Pennsylvania and its surrounding communities come together to commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The commemoration reminds us of our interdependence and reaffirms our commitment to the betterment of our communities through civility and service. Our Hallmark program, sponsored by AARC, The Netter Center and The Philadelphia Higher Education Network for Neighborhood Development, seeks to identify the role of various communities in improving the quality of life for our beloved neighbors. This year we will be discussing the role of religious communities in the fight for social justice. Panelists will be: Rev.
