The Qayaq Model Making Workshop will be led by Sugpiaq Master Artist Andrew Abyo and will teach participants about qayaq building through the creation of a model qayaq. All skill levels are welcome to attend.
The free Workshop will take place at the Alaska Native Heritage Center and materials will be provided thanks to the National Endowment for the Arts. To enroll, students must agree to attend all five days of the Workshop. The Workshop will take place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on January 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th.
